It’s important to note that though I chose to explore how to bridge tradition and scientific innovation through hair, that is certainly not the only aspect of our health that Ayurveda’s treatments are limited to. Ayurveda is an extremely holistic process, simply using coconut oil is not the only treatment Ayurvedic doctors would suggest to someone who has severe hair conditions. I wanted to also give my participants Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry, because Ayurvedic doctors strongly suggest eating raw Amla for numerous health conditions. However, it would be unethical to provide that to my participants based as I am not an Ayurvedic doctor. As a high school senior who didn’t have access to labs and the license to provide my participants with other forms of Ayurvedic treatment, I would like to expand on my work later where I can provide more in-depth results. However, these results were gathered through precision, patience, and work, and they still stand as a strong measure of the relation between Ayurveda and hair treatment.
